Karen Espinosa grew up in New York. In her early days she would travel with her mother (Cleiry Cruz) until the age of 18 years old, where then she would move down to West Palm Beach, FL and marry her husband (Danny). She would began to lead worship at her local church Encountering Life. March of 2020 her life would change as she gets invited to her first Maverick City Music camp. Karen has become a key writer and artist for Maverick City Musica and TRIBL records. Today, she also takes part of a collective known as "Family Music" made up of worship leaders throughout the country.
Maverick City started with a dream to make space for people that would otherwise live in their own separate worlds. We break the unspoken rules that exist in the CCM and Gospel World! But more importantly, Maverick aims to be a megaphone for a community of creatives that believe in Jesus and the Gospel, but have been pushed to the margins of the industry of Church Music. This is what brings us together.
